Hi! I'm Amanda.
I'm a strength coach with a penchant for philosophical pontification, a poet with a dancing addiction, a yogini with a dream of making animated films.
My mother put me in gymnastics class immediately after I took my first steps. The story goes that I couldn't get enough of the monkey bars. When the other kids in class got tired or scared, I climbed higher, exclaimed, "Again! More!"
I was the first kid on my block to learn to ride a bike without training wheels. I joined my first gym when I was 16 and taught myself to squat and deadlift by reading fitness magazines. I began teaching step aerobics at 18 as a way to help put myself through college and have been working as a teacher, coach and movement-motivator ever since.
My professional certifications are:
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, National Sports and Conditioning Association
- 500 Hour Certified Yoga Teacher
- B.A. English Literature, University of Washington
